I made some adjustments to this based off of the feedback I've received. Sorry, couldn't/wouldn't shrink the pouches. I darkened the building and painted a little bit of my sky over the bat-signal to help it blend in a little more. Darkened the bat-line near Batman's hands. Adjusted the color of the bulbs and their glow (but I still tried to keep them from attracting too much attention). And I pumped a little bit more saturation in the colors. I felt they were a little muted.

I kept this under wraps (for 2 whole days) until I could give a printed copy to Jerry at Comicpalooza. A few months ago at Comiccon, my wife and I bought the original and a colored print of this from Jerry and talked with him a bit. I decided to scan the original and do colors for it too. I think I've almost got my "Sorry I haven't been around much lately..." speech perfected by now. I've been keeping my head down while working on a project for the last few months called Nature God. I wrapped it up a couple of days ago, so now I'm trying to get caught up on commissions before I start working on some stuff of my own and getting my portfolio tightened up. Before I get started on commission work, I had promised that this would be the next thing I did that wasn't Nature God related. Look for more coming from me VERY soon!!! Lines by Michael Kassinger

Sure it looks like Supes has the upper-hand here, but we ALL know how this one is going to turn out, don't we? This was a fun one to color. I'm not sure I'm entirely happy with the light at the top, but I'm going to take a step back from it and see what others may think before deciding if I need to rework it. C&C's heartily encouraged! Got to talking with Scott Simmons and Brant Fowler about their book "Wannabez" (pronounced Wanna-bees) not too long ago and they we talking about doing the #0 issue in full color and including it in a TB. I did grayscales for it and they were interested in finding out how hard it would be to colorize the grays. I played around with it for about five minutes before I said "Screw this! I'm just going to recolor the pages." It's been over 2 1/2 years since I did the grayscales, and I can make it look so much better if I start from scratch. So here is the first page of the 12 page issue. Wannabez is a story about a bunch of people who through a series of coincidences believe they have been given super-powers from a meteor that stuck the earth. There is a ton of humor, in jokes, and nods to comic and sci-fi related properties. I colored this page as a night scene before Scott e-mailed me and told me that it should be a day time scene instead, so I'm stumbling out of the gates in true Wannabez fashion. This is the cover for the #0 issue of Wannabez. I originally colored this cover 3 years ago and wanted to give it an update while I was coloring the greyscaled interior pages. C&C's always appreciated. And for comparison's sake, here are the two versions side by side. I don't do it a whole lot, but I can definitely see the advantage to returning to an image that you've already colored and work it again. Love to hear everyone's thoughts.

Jonathon Glapion was nice enough to send me a few pages to color up for my portfolio, and I'm finally able to get around to them. Sheesh. Anyway, I'd really appreciate any feedback you may have. Positive or negative. Anything that will help. Pencils by Philip Tan Inks by Jonathon Glapion

Here are a couple covers I colored for Sniper and Rook that debuted at CCC last weekend. Too late to make any changes for print, but I'd love to hear any thoughts you might have on what I can work on in the future.
