When I was interning with Marshall Dillon, I kept hearing about Skottie Young, so I eventually got off my lazy butt and looked up his works. I have always been a big fan of sketchie pencils and inks, as well as more dynamic art styles. (as in more cartoonie than true to real life) So I instantly fell in love with Young's artwork. He also is pretty fun to listen to, especially when he groups up with Mike Norton and Crank. (Hah, yes, I am a fan of The Crankcast as well.) Linkage to his blogspot: www.skottieyoung.com/I am digging the art for his Oz series. It feels a lot more like a child's storybook, and that makes me smile.

If you get the chance, you really aught to head over and listen to the podcast he does with his girl Casey. It's funny as hell and good to listen to when you're tied down to a drawing board: devilandme.com/

Skottie Young was the artist who got me into comics! Seeing his Human Torch work really inspired me. Fantastic artist and all around great guy.
