So I'll start off with a badly drawn wolverine scribble. Hopefully will have time to draw more, but I barely have enough time to sleep as it is. Critiques are welcome and are encouraged.

That's not bad at all. I think the pose can be set-up a little better though, but it depends where you're limits are with posture. I remember being stuck doing the same static poses for the longest, but now I get a lot more looser with my drawings and give my poses more curvature to give it that natural flow. Kind of hard to explain, but I will probably show some more examples in the thread you created "How do you do it"
I already posted one example in that thread, but my concepts are still pretty stiff. I usually get it looking better when I detail it out a little more. But unfortunately I'm stuck at the moment lol

Hey this looks great. But agreeing with the above about his pose, I must add. When you want to draw a character, you should give it it's personality. Your drawing looks like Wolverine, but in my opinion, it doesn't feel like Wolverine. Give him a lilttle action pose, or make him roar at the viewer.
Yet, it's hard to fully judge when we've only seen one drawing of yours. Keep' em comin

I wish I knew how to be looser when sketching. Whenever I do it turns out badly. Ah well, I'll try again.

Try making some research on action poses. Even if it takes you for a dA search, you can always find some inspiration there. Sometimes anatomy books also contain more dynamic postures. Why don't you sketch out some stuff and show us so we can try and give you some tips

Hm, so just watched Hellsing Ultimate and sketched out a young Walter Yea, doesn't look much like him. Ugh... So frustrating. I only get a few minutes a day to sketch at a time, so my progress will be abysmally slow.

Sorry that I haven't really been sketching. I'm not very good and I don't have a lot of time a day.

Try giving your drawings a closer angle...zoom in with your eye and bring the viewer closer to your characters. This will help you get more dynamic and cleaner lines. You have shown us works that are from a distance and very small. Try a closeup bust or a larger scale image to bring the character in closer in the frame you are working with. Try a bust shot; head, shoulders, hands...most likely with the Wolverine craziness going on these days...claws.
Give it a shot on drawing something a little more finished before taking it up to color.

Be sure and keep at it and pick up the confidence a little. You pick on your work way worse than we ever would. Yeah, it's still got a long way to go but you will never get there if you constantly stop for those pitty party layovers.
Keep practicing...constantly and ALL of the time. You'll be surprised at the turn out.

Yea, I'll try. Kinda tough though. I go months at a time without drawing due to lack of time. Now that I have a little bit of time, getting back into it is really hard. I'll try to do at least 1 sketch a day, if possible. Thanks!

Naruto. How do people get their lines so clean and crisp? And their colors so..neat and not muddy?
